About Me

Hi, I'm Joanna Insco. I'm a New York City-based freelance journalist with a Bachelor of Arts in digital journalism and a minor in environmental studies from Marymount Manhattan College. I have published work in global media networks Al Jazeera and WORLD News Group, as well as in local papers in both New York City and Sioux Center, Iowa. During undergrad, I engaged in opportunities to learn and work as a journalist through internships at The Brooklyn Paper and Brooklyn Daily Eagle, and through my leadership role as Digital Managing Editor of The Monitor. I have consistently sought to combine my passion for the environment and social justice with storytelling, and I am excited to bring my skills into this field. I look forward to connecting!

“Carefully documented facts can trigger empathy, compassion, and action, potentially leading to social change. Even when the notion of truth seems to be collapsing, facts can still bring about social change.”
